Freed after her battle with Lysandra, Sorina returns home to her native Dacia to find a land geared and ready for war against the hated Roman Empire.

For Sorina, it is as though the gods have granted her prayers and she is give a dictate by the king-in-all-but-name, Decabalus, to conduct raids in the neighbouring Roman province of Moesia. The aim – to tempt the Romans into battle.

It is a mission that she takes to with vicious enthusiasm, ensuring that the violence that metes out to her enemies causes shock amongst the legions. Impaling, dismemberment, torture – Sorina employs all these and more to ensure that the Rome will take the bait and march on the well-prepared army of Decabalus.

The legions finally clash with the Dacians at Tapae, where Sorina is instrumental in dealing the empire its most crushing defeat in more than a hundred years.

Lauded by Decabalus, it is for Sorina to bring more of the people of the steppes to his banner. The horde is growing stronger each day, and soon it will march on Rome and destroy the empire that she has hated for so long.
