Lysandra

Age: 19
Birthplace: Sparta
Fighting style: Dimachaeria/Thraex.
History: A Priestess of the warrior goddess, Lysandra has led a cloistered life of religious observance and military training in Sparta's Temple of Athene.
However, on a routine journey across the Hellespont, Lysandra's flotilla was caught in a storm and all but destroyed. Washed ashore, she was captured by the men of the lanista, Lucius Balbus and thrust in the brutal world of the gladiatorial ludus.
Trained in weapons and combat from her earliest years, Lysandra takes to the training well enough. But her status as slave is an anathema to all that she believes and her arrogance grates on the other women of the ludus, most especially the Dacian warrior queen Sorina, who occupies the highest echelon of Balbus's fighters.
After months of trial, Lysandra eventually finds her place amongst a small group of friends and love in the arms of the Silurian gladiatirx, Eirianwen. But Eirianwen is looked upon by Sorina as her successor and what was a grudge between her and Lysandra now erupts into open hostility. The stage is set for a showdown between Spartan priestess and Dacian queen on the sands of the arena.
