History: Ankhesenpaatenta-sherit – or Ankhsy as she is known – is a native of Rome's 'bread-basket' – Alexandria in Egypt.

A child of the streets, Ankhsy grew up living on her wits and guile to survive. Coming to full womanhood, she deteremined to escape the grinding poverty of the city streets and make her fortune overseas.

Bribing a Roman merchant – with stolen money – she makes her way across to the sea to fabled Italia and signs on as gladiatrix at the school of Hister in Capua, learning that this is a quick, sure fire way to make a decent living – even if there are serious risks involved.

Fighting under the name of 'Isis' – the Egyptian Goddess, Ankshy soon makes a name for herself as a more-than-capable fighter.

Ankshy's breezy personality makes her popular amongst her peers in the ludus and in time she becomes nominal leader of the school's small cadre of gladiatrices.

It is Ankhsy who first befriends 'new girl' Lysandra when she arrives for at Hister's school for her bout with Illeana and helps her adjust to life under her new regime.
