Hysterica

Formed in 2005, Hysterica are without a doubt, the finest Heavy (or True if you prefer) Metal band in the world today.

Their first album "MetalWar" (2009) is a modern classic and 2011's "Art of Metal" is project that is wholly unique. Hysterica are working with artists from different genres, collaborating on each song from the LP. The artists will produce a piece of work from their discipline (so, sculptures, paintings, body art and so forth), all of which will be exhibited in the band's native Stockholm at the famous Snickarbacken7 Gallery. Russ has been asked to write a song for the album, called "Spirit of the Age." It's a huge honour and very, very nerve-wracking!

Comprising Anni, Bitche, Helln', Mary and Satanica, Hysterica merge the sound of Classic Metal with modern styling to produce something truly unique. They are peerless musicians and vocalist Anni has the most incredible voice – there is no difference between the band's studio and live sound – they play it as it is. So often you find at a live gig that the vocals are forced and the music a little different – not so with Hysterica.

If there was such a thing as "Gladiatrix Metal", I think that Hysterica would embody it. They are tough, fearless, frighteningly good at what they do and prove that the girls can hit has hard as the boys.
